Who is the Level 3 course for?

The Level 3 tennis coach qualification is for professionals who want to work full time within the tennis coaching profession. In addition to giving coaches the ability to coach beginners and improvers one-on-one and in groups, the course teaches the basics of business management so that coaches can manage themselves as a tennis business.

Currently, we run Level 3 courses at our two LTA approved Coach Education Centres; the University of Warwick Tennis Centre and Bolton Arena.

How is the course structured?

The course is 12 days plus assessment. Courses run at Warwick are broken up into 6, 2 day modules and 1 day of assessment and at Bolton the course is split into 3 day modules and 1 day of assessment. The days usually run from 8.30am-4.30pm, but can vary at different venues and for some modules.

Module 1

Three consecutive days, Days 1, 2 and 3

4 to 6 week break

During this break you must complete at least 9 hours of coaching experience with an Accredited+ coach and work on your Level 3 portfolio.

Module 2

Three consecutive days, Days 4, 5 and 6

4 to 6 week break

During this break you must complete at least another 9 hours of coaching experience with an Accredited+ coach and continue working on your Level 3 portfolio.

Module 3

Three consecutive days, Day 7, 8 and 9

4 to 6 week break

During this break you must complete at least another 9 hours of coaching experience with an Accredited+ coach and complete your Level 3 portfolio.

Module 4

Three consecutive days, Day 7, 8 and 9

Are there any pre-requisites?

To be allowed to begin the course, BEFORE day 1, you must have the following pre-requisites fully completed:

  • Hold the 1st4sport Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Tennis (you will need to submit a certificate from the course if this is not on your LTA coaching profile).
  • Be LTA Accredited or have a current DBS which is less than 12 months old when starting the course (formerly CRB Enhanced Disclosure) processed through the LTA.
  • Have (or have had) a rating of 6.1 or a Play Test Grade 1, (you may need to provide evidence of your Play Test result if this is not on your LTA coaching profile).
  • Have a current Emergency First Aid at Work certificate which is HSE approved (you will need to submit a photocopy of the course certificate if this is not on your LTA coaching profile).

What does it cost?

The full course cost is £ £699.00 – included is a one year unlimited access subscription to Tennis(24/7), our exclusive online resource centre for tennis coaches.

Step 1. Check that you have all pre-requisites in place.
Step 2. Choose your venue.
Step 3. Decide which date you’d like to attend - making sure that you can attend on all of the course dates.

We will send you a confirmation email and then before the course we will send you a reminder letter with useful information on finding the venue and anything else that you might like to bring on the day.
