Our team of talented tennis professionals have wide ranging backgrounds, but they are single-minded in their drive to provide you with an exceptional tennis experience.
Richard, our unstoppable super coach and founder, has a contagious energy and enthusiasm for coaching and business. His passion for tennis can clearly be seen when he’s on the tennis court.
Richard has been involved, at a high level, in many diverse tennis roles including working with high-level juniors, running tennis at a commercial centre, tutoring and presenting to coaches both in the UK and overseas.
Richard is a Level 5 coach and leads i2c’s large club programme business.
To relax after a full day of tennis, at the point when most of us are ready for the sofa, Richard heads off to chill-out with a round of golf!
Mark is a proud Londoner (is there any other sort?) and his first languages are French and English.
Before tennis found Mark, he wanted to work in Third World Aid and Development but he fell into tennis to repay university debts and he has never looked back. Mark says, “tennis takes me all around the world whilst other people are working!”
Before Mark and Richard formed inspire2coach (that’s another story and you can read it here), Mark worked at the LTA and ITF. He is an LTA Level 5 coach and qualified coach education tutor. His experience includes tutoring and presenting to coaches in nearly 100 countries around the world.
Mark’s philosophy;.....”if you want to be successful, spend time with successful people”.
Brad is our Head of Business Development and joined us at the beginning of 2020 from his previous role as UK Head of Racquets for Virgin Active. He has a wealth of experience in commercial operations within tennis from overseeing some of the largest clubs in the UK to building partnerships with leading brands such as Castore, Adidas, Asics and Wilson.
Brad is passionate about exploring new opportunities for i2c within the industry, investing in its people and developing the company to never stop trying to be better. Coffee and Marvel fanatic Brad loves spending his time away from work with his wife and 3 kids enjoying new experiences and travelling the world.
Adam started playing tennis when he was 4 years old. He went on to a professional tennis career travelling worldwide.
Adam now leads i2c’s performance coaching programme from our Shrewsbury and Warwick bases. His impressive coaching career spans 15 years, including work with Nick Bollettieri and the LTA. Adam has a passion for learning and says his favourite player is Roger Federer, the purist’s choice!
We try not to judge, but when Adam is not playing tennis he’s probably feasting on Nandos or curry whilst watching “First Dates”!
Mel joined i2c part time in 2012, but it didn’t take us long to realise we needed Mel full-time! As our Senior Area Manager, Mel manages our team of Area Managers, ensuring that all our programmes and coaching teams are running at their best.
Mel didn’t expect her Bachelor of Science degree (majoring in geology) to lead to a career in tennis, but here she is – and we’re glad!
Mel’s favourite player is Serena Williams; “the most inspirational sportswoman of all time and an incredible role model for all young girls today”.
Dave, our Coach Education Manager, has completed 5 Iron Man events, loves cooking and, with his son, is a Guinness World Record Holder for the most pantomime animals to complete a race (you can ask him about that when you meet him!).
Dave is a LTA Level 5 Coach and Tutor with a tonne of experience in Coach Education. Before joining inspire2coach Dave was the Tennis Coach Development Manager at Loughborough University, and before that a Racquets Manager at Virgin Active UK.
His favourite phrase...."Get comfortable being uncomfortable!" You have been warned!
Becky, an LTA Level 3 Accredited+ coach, joined i2c as a level 2 tennis coaching apprentice. She now shines as i2c’s Coventry Area Manager; managing our tennis programmes at Beechwood LTC, War Memorial Park, Rugby LTC & Nuneaton LTC.
Becky’s personal tennis career highlight was winning the Ladies Coventry League in 2016 without dropping a match!
Her favourite tennis player is fellow lefty, Rafael Nadal!
Josh joined inspire2coach in 2014 as the Head Coach at two of our clubs, but Josh has found his calling as our Shropshire Area Manager, looking after our network of clubs in the county.
Josh, an LTA Level 3 Accredited+ coach, started tennis coaching when he was only 15 years old; now he leads a dedicated team of coaches in spreading the word about tennis being the best sport in the world! His favourite player is Roger Federer.
Simon is the our Director of Tennis at The Shrewsbury Club where he is responsible for overseeing the coaching programme and members of the club.
Whilst studying Economics & Politics at University, Simon set up a wildly successful business managing tennis tournaments across the UK. His business was eventually responsible for 45 venues and almost 1,000 tournaments a year!
Simon loves tennis and he works hard to instil a similar love for the sport in all players.
Andy, a level 4 LTA Accredited+ Coach, joined the i2c team in April 2015 after 18 years with the Lawn Tennis Association.
As our Area Manager for the North, Andy is responsible for the day-to-day management of our programmes running from Leicester in the south to Barnsley in the north.
Andy’s tennis record is insipring! As a junior he won every county age group – white balls, wooden rackets, grass courts!
Andy loves, “working with numerous, extremely dedicated and enthusiastic, people aiming to make a difference and get more people playing this great game”.
